The Daily Record today exposes this solicitor and former public schoolboy as a vile bigot who spat racist abuse at a young mum and her little son on a train.

Former company director Alexander “AJ” MacKinnon, 47, was offended by the presence of Sanaa Shahid and her son Zayn, four, in ‘his’ first-class carriage. The snob sneered at them: “How did you get into first class? You don’t deserve to be in first class.

“You should be in common class. In fact, you shouldn’t be in this country at all.

“You don’t deserve to be here. 
Bloody foreigners. Where were you 
even born?”

Bully MacKinnon also swore at 
little Zayn. His social media “likes” include Donald Trump, the BNP and the far-right English Defence League.

None of the other passengers 
in the carriage did anything to help Glasgow-born lawyer Sanaa. But she bravely confronted MacKinnon and branded him a racist.

She reported him to the train manager and transport police took him away in handcuffs. He continued to spout 
racist bile and abuse when officers
interviewed him.

week and admitted a racist offence, 
but escaped with a fine.

He apparently hoped a quick guilty 
plea would help him avoid publicity.

Sanaa and Zayn fell foul of MacKinnon on December 29 on the 2.30pm Virgin train from London Euston to Glasgow Central. Sanaa was heading home with her son after visiting husband Aftab, 36, who is working in the UK capital.

“This man started behaving 
aggressively to my son, telling him to
 shut up,” Sanaa recalled.

“I said to him that my son hadn’t done anything and then the abuse began. I moved seats to try to get away.

“I was taken aback. I’ve lived in 
Scotland all my life and nothing of this nature has ever happened to me. I told him straight that he was being racist and the staff on the train heard it.

“There were another 10 to 12 
passengers in the carriage and 
not one of them spoke up. That was shocking too.”

Sanaa began filming MacKinnon and watched as he guzzled wine straight from the bottle.

She also listened as he picked up his phone and arrogantly told a friend that someone was “wasting police time” by accusing him of racism. He knew at the time that Sanaa had reported him.

MacKinnon spat at Sanaa: “I’m racist, am I? You’re a racist.” He then looked straight at Zayn and swore aggressively.

Sanaa said: “I started filming this man in the immediate aftermath 
of the incident. Even then I could
hear him talking on the phone, ranting about me and Zayn.

“The train manager contacted 
British Transport Police then came 
and sat next to me until the train got into Carlisle.

“The Virgin staff could not have been better. They realised what was happening and were brilliant.

“The transport police were waiting to interview me when the train got into Glasgow. They were brilliant too.”

But despite all the support she received, Sanaa admitted MacKinnon’s abuse left its mark on her. She said: “I found myself crying a few times in the days afterwards.

“I was just so shocked to encounter this level of racism.

“I was also shocked at the open aggression this man showed towards my son. He is only four years old.”

MacKinnon is originally from London and was a boarder at exclusive Milton Abbey School in Dorset, where boarding now costs £11,780 per term.

He has “liked” Donald Trump on social media and posted articles about former UKIP leader Nigel Farage. His other social media “likes” include the English Defence League, the BNP, the Scottish BNP and various Scottish Conservative associations.

MacKinnon also likes luxury Swiss watchmakers, high-end gentlemen’s outfitters and vintage car associations for models such as Bentley and Jaguar.

He appeared at Carlisle Magistrates Court on Tuesday and admitted
a racially aggravated public order offence. He was fined £1154, plus 
£50 compensation, a £150 victim surcharge and £85 in court costs.

MacKinnon booked into a hotel in Gretna for his court appearance and shamelessly reviewed it online, praising the “very friendly staff” and “fantastic breakfast”.

He also complained about a firm of solicitors, although he didn’t explain why he needed them.

recommend. They don’t return
your phone calls and don’t reply to 
your emails.

“Found another solicitor who done what I wanted done within a day.”

We went to talk to MacKinnon yesterday at his plush flat in leafy Mansionhouse Road on the south side of Glasgow, but a man who answered the door said he spoke for him and then refused to comment on his behaviour.

PC Mark Mellenthin, who investigated the case, said MacKinnon’s “frightening racist outburst” left Sanaa “visibly distressed and shaken”.

He added: “People like MacKinnon must understand that abusive, racist behaviour has no place on the railway. Everyone has the right to travel without fear of abuse like this.

“When it does happen we will do everything in our power to bring people before the courts.

“Hopefully MacKinnon’s substantial fine will make him think twice before unleashing such vitriol on other members of the public.”

A drunk man shouted racist abuse during a hospital visit on Christmas Day and claimed to back the BNP, a court heard.

Homeless Richard Sykes, 36, told staff at the Queen’s Medical Centre: “I am going to hurt every **** here” before making a comment supporting the far right party.

Ali Zaki, prosecuting, told Nottingham magistrates: “Many of the staff are of Asian, Indian and Pakistani heritage.”

Road builder Sykes was said to be “extremely drunk” and had also taken the drug cocaine that day, added Mr Zaki.

The court heard that Sykes had 36 previous convictions including one for a racially aggravated offence in March 2014. A £120 fine, £50 prosecution costs and a £30 government surcharge were ordered from Sykes, who pleaded guilty to racially aggravated threatening behaviour.

Nigel Dicks, mitigating, said: “Like most people in this situation, he is not racially motivated and certainly is not in the BNP. This is just someone who can’t even remember what language came out of his mouth when he was in that situation in the hospital.

“There is no underlying malice and he apologises to the court.”

Father-of-two Sykes is currently living on £400 wages left over after working for a firm which went bankrupt. He is “sofa surfing and has no underlying problem with drug or drink abuse,” added Mr Dicks.

Presiding magistrate John Perry told Sykes: “This happened in a public place and was racially aggravated as well.”

A Metro racist claimed a fellow passenger was a “terrorist” and “member of ISIS” during a shocking rant on a moving train.

Tony Browning shouted that the 25-year-old asylum seeker, from Sudan, should “get off the train” travelling from Monument in Newcastle, branded him a “bomber” and threatened to hit him.

The 33-year-old fairground worker, who pressed the carriage’s emergency stop button at Gateshead Stadium, claimed his victim was a “smack head” who was carrying a needle or knife.

Newcastle Crown Court heard his claims led to the man, who spoke very little English, being questioned and handcuffed by police who searched for a weapon he did not have.

Browning, of Townsend Road, Sunderland, who has 113 previous convictions, admitted racially aggravated harrassment.

Prosecutor Neil Pallister told the court the victim was unclear about what Browning was shouting when he approached him on the train in March but knew he was swearing.

Mr Pallister said Browning “walked up and down the train, shouting” while other shocked passengers looked on.

One witness said Browning also shouted abuse at black passengers before he pressed the emergency brake.

Mr Pallister added: “He was repeating he was a terrorist. He didn’t want the train to move until the complainant had moved.

“He suggested the complainant was a member of ISIS.

“He told witnesses he had seen the complainant with a weapon or needle, something shiny or sharp and mentioned a knife.”

The court heard when police, who had been contacted by Metro staff, questioned the asylum seeker, who spoke virtually no English, he replied “yes” to every question, including if he had a knife.

Mr Pallister said: “He was replying ‘yes’ to all questions.

“Having said yes, police handcuffed him and searched him. No knife was found.

“The carriage was searched and no knife was found. Clearly, he did not have any sort of weapon.”

The court heard the victim now feels frightened to use public transport and worries about a similar situation happening again.

Judge Amanda Rippon told Browning: “You abused a young man on a Metro train in this city, who was doing no more than minding his own business, travelling as he was entitled to.

“You abused him not just generally, but racially, making reference to the colour of his skin, calling him a terrorist, accusing him of having a weapon and frightening him.

“This debacle was seen by other members of the public and it no doubt distressed them as well.

“You were calling him a smack head, a terrorist and telling him to get off the train, telling him you were going to hit him.

“The poor complainant ended up being handcuffed for a short time while police searched for a weapon you said he had, which he never did.”

The judge sentenced Browning to nine months imprisonment, suspended for two years, with supervision and programme requirements plus a £25 fine for breach of a previous suspended sentence.

Vic Laffey, defending, said Browning has since stopped drinking and found work at a fairground.

Mr Laffey said despite Browning’s long list of previous convictions, he has never acted in a racist way in the past.

Mr Laffey added: “He is at a loss to explain why he acted in such a reckless way on this particular day.

“It has not been a feature of his life before.”

A patient posted shocking racist abuse on Facebook about a nurse who was looking after him following an overdose.

Kieron Wright had been admitted to Sunderland Royal Hospital after taking an overdose, the Chronicle Live reports .

A court heard he posted a message on a public forum complaining about being moved to a different ward and making vile comments about a female nurse.

He referred to her as a “big ape-looking lass” and added: “Not ******* happy.

“If anyone was thinking about popping in with fruit, leave the bananas in the house, I don’t fancy getting robbed. Ha.”

Newcastle Crown Court heard a member of staff at Sunderland NHS Trust spotted the “gross racial slur” and contacted police.

Now Wright, who said he was sorry and wasn’t thinking straight due to his overdose, has been spared jail after he admitted sending an offensive communication.

Mr Recorder Morris told the 23-year-old: “That was a deeply offensive message to post on a public forum.

“I have no doubt anyone who read it would have been disgusted by what they saw. Such language is entirely unacceptable.

“This was not just a message sent to one individual but was widely disseminated to the public.

“It was plainly a racially motivated offensive message and that is a serious aggravating factor in this case.”

Wright had ended up in hospital on the evening of March 10 this year.

The deputy head of corporate affairs at the local NHS Trust became aware of what he had written on Facebook during his stay.

Wright was interviewed by police and said he didn’t realise it would offend anyone and was sorry.

Alec Burns, defending, said: “He is very sorry about the communication offence.

“He couldn’t see it at the time but she was helping him. He didn’t understand at the time because of the state he was in. He apologises.”

Wright, of Rosedale Street, Sunderland, pleaded guilty to sending an offensive communication.

The court heard his 47 previous convictions include daubing graffiti on the walls of a police cell calling a man with an Asian-sounding name a “nonce”.

Wright also admitted assaulting a man in an unrelated offence because he wasn’t happy with the quality of cannabis he had been sold.

He had also failed to comply with a previous community order.

For the racist Facebook post and the assault, Wright was sentenced to a community order for 18 months, with rehabilitation and supervision requirements.

He was also given a restraining order to keep him away from the assault victim and his girlfriend.

Mr Burns said Wright has a history of mental health problems but has recently started working.

A patient was arrested and prosecuted after he sent a racist Facebook post about his nurse from his hospital bed.

Kieron Wright, 23, said that the NHS worker looking after him at Sunderland Royal Hospital was “ape looking” and warned visitors not to bring him bananas in case she robbed them from him.

The shocking post on the social networking site was seen by the NHS trust bosses who reported it to the police.

Demolition worker Wright, of Rosedale Street, Sunderland, was arrested and admitted sending an offensive communication.

Newcastle Crown Court heard the post was put on Facebook on March 10.

It read: “Been moved ward again. Now on ward B26 and I’ve got a big, ape-looking lass for a nurse. Not happy one bit. If any of you are thinking about popping up with fruit etc, leave the bananas in the house, I don’t fancy getting robbed haha.”

Prosecutor Anne Richardson told the court the “extreme language” amounted to a “racial hate crime” which caused disgust to the hospital manager who saw it.

Wright was arrested and said he had not intended to cause any offense and was sorry if he had.

Mr Recorder Stephen Morris QC told Wright: “You realise, at the time, the nurse was in fact helping you.

“That was a deeply offensive message to post on a public forum.

“I have no doubt anyone who read it would have been disgusted by what they saw.

“Such language is entirely unacceptable.

“I do not accept you didn’t realise how offensive the message was but I accept you have apologised and shown remorse.

“This was not a post sent to one individual, it was widely disseminated to members of the public. It was a racially motivated offensive message committed against someone working in the public sector, nursing staff at a public hospital, which is also an aggravating feature.”

A spokeswoman for the trust told the Echo that the NHS bosses ‘will not hesitate’ in reporting such incidents and supporting their staff members.

Wright, who has previous convictions for violence and disorder, was before the judge for the Communications Act offence and an assault by beating, which he was convicted of after a trial.

The violence related to him punching a man at his home when he went to complain about the quality of the cannabis he had bought from him.

Wright, who has been on a curfew for around eight months as part of his bail conditions, was sentenced to a community order for 18 months with rehabilitation and supervision requirements.

Alec Burns, defending said: “He is very sorry for having done this and very sorry she had to read what he had written.

“He did not see it at the time but she was helping him.

“He apologises and apologised very shortly afterwards.”

Mr Burns said Wright has now got a demolition job and is willing to work hard and stay out of trouble.

A spokeswoman for City Hospitals Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust said: “The NHS is a very diverse workforce and it is unacceptable for any member of our staff to be the subject of racial comments on social media whilst caring for patients.

“The Trust takes all forms of abuse very seriously, whether that be verbal, racial or violent, and we will not hesitate to support our staff by reporting such incidents.”

Soldier’s race hate remarks

A teenage soldier made religious and race hate remarks to a takeaway worker after salt was put on his chips.

Tyler Pollitt, who was described as expected to have a very bright future in the British Army, was abusive about the worker’s Muslim religion and ethnic origins after going into the Feast About takeaway in Blackpool.

Pollitt, an 18-year old logistics gunner with the Royal Artillery, of Wilkinson Street, Leigh, Wigan, pleaded guilty to religiously and racially threatening behaviour.

He was fined £500 with £85 costs and ordered to pay £100 compensation to the takeaway worker plus £50 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

Martine Connah, prosecuting, said Pollitt went into the Feast About takeaway on August 20 at 6.45pm and after he complained his portion of chips had salt on, the assistant made him another portion. Pollitt continued to complain and then made the vile remarks.

When a policewoman tried to arrest him, Pollitt threw himself to the floor claiming she had punched him, before making race hate remarks to a nearby group of Asian men.

A report from Pollitt’s commanding officer, which was read to the court, described him as an intelligent hard-working soldier who was expected to have a very bright future in the Army.

David Scully, defending, said his client had come to Blackpool with two friends and had too much to drink. He was ashamed of what had happened and had voluntarily offered to pay his victim compensation.

Three protesters were racially abused at a ‘Unite Against Fascism’ march.

Tony Hyam, 48, screamed ‘You bunch of n**** lovers’ at the protesters in Villiers Street, central London.

Hyam also screamed ‘Refugees are not welcome’ at the three women, Westminster Magistrates Court heard.

Speakers at the event included Diane Abbott MP, poet Michael Rosen and comedian Jeremy Hardy.

Kate Shilton, prosecuting, said: ‘On March 19 a group of people were attending a Unite Against Fascism rally.

‘As the three victims, Jasmine Jackin, Zlatka Jakin, and Nadia Jackin turned onto Villiers Road, the defendant began shouting abuse and racial slurs towards the group.

‘He called them a “bunch of n**** lovers”, “dirty n*****” and shouted “refugees are not welcome here”.

Ms Shilton told the court the victims had been profoundly affected by the harassment.

Reading a statement from Zlatka Jackin, the mother of the two other victims, she said: ‘I now realise some people still regard others as a lower class or lower race.

‘It made me very upset.’

Hyam admitted using threatening or abusive words, one count of racially aggravated harassment.

Judge Joanna Matson adjourned the case for reports before sentence on September 15 at Westminster Magistrates Court.

Hyam, of Shearwood Crescent, Bexley, pleaded guilty to one count of threatening behaviour and one of racially aggravated harassment.

Racist yob loses prison sentence appeal

A RACIST yob from Harlow who was branded a “disgrace to the values of this country” after making Nazi salutes and unleashing a torrent of anti-semitic abuse in a London pub has failed in a bid to have his prison sentence reduced.

John Patrick Hennigan (46), of Long Banks, Harlow, was caged for 21 months after he was convicted at the Old Bailey in October of breaching an anti-social behaviour order for the seventh time.

He has now lost his application to have the sentence cut when judges at the Court of Appeal ruled it was “richly deserved”.

Judge Michael Stokes QC said Hennigan was barred from using foul, threatening, racist or abusive language under the terms of an ASBO imposed in 2005.

But he flouted the order when he went to The Magpie pub at Bishopsgate in central London – from which he had been barred twice before – in February of last year.

“He had been seen to make Nazi salutes and engaged in racist and anti-semitic language and, when the manager required him to leave, he resisted”, said the judge.

Hennigan continued to make racist remarks and started singing an offensive song associated with the English Defence League. When he was told the police had been called he continued to resist and said ‘If I were a Jew, you wouldn’t be doing this.’

Hennigan also hurled abuse at police officers, calling one a “f***** pathetic little creature” as he was arrested.

In his grounds for appeal, Hennigan claimed the trial judge over-rated the seriousness of the breach and had imposed a sentence which he descirbed as “manifestly excessive”.

But Judge Stokes, sitting with Lord Justice Leveson and Mr Justice Nicol, rejected the appeal, saying: “Hennigan’s behaviour in a crowded pub could have led to serious disorder.

“He takes no notice of court orders, which is in itself a serious aggravating feature, and a significant custodial sentence was inevitable in this case.

“We have considered the grounds of appeal but reject arguments that the judge erred. This sentence was not wrong in principle or manifestly excessive; on the contrary, it was fully justified and richly deserved.”

A judge stunned a courtroom by using the C-word as she jailed a racist thug.

But, taking no prisoners, the judge immediately retorted: “You are a bit of a c*** yourself. Being offensive to me doesn’t help.”

Hennigan shouted back: “Go f*** yourself.”

Judge Lynch dropped the C-bomb as she jailed Hennigan for 18 months for insulting a black Caribbean mother.

He told Tanisha Ford: “I don’t agree with inter-racial relationships. I like natural” later adding: “I prefer white children”.

The court heard Hennigan has 23 convictions for 47 offences, many of them involving Nazi salutes and racist incidents.

The latest offence, committed in his hometown of Harlow, Essex, was his ninth breach of an ASBO banning him from acting in an anti social way or using racist language.

In October 2012 he was seen performing a Nazi salute in a central London pub and calling black people vile racial slurs.

Describing Tanisha’s reaction to Hennigan’s racist outburst, Prosecutor Lynne Shirley said: “She was shocked and surprised.

“The incident made her feel very upset, hurt, out of place and distressed. She was alarmed her children had to listen to the comments.”

While sentencing Hennigan at Chelmsford Crown Court on Tuesday, Judge Lynch told him: “Your offence is thoroughly unpleasant and repeated breaches of this order using the most unpleasant of language and causing distress.

“It’s said custody would be distressing for you but it seems you never learn.

“This is the ninth time you have breached this order, the same offensive, racist comments and you don’t deserve another chance.”

It was at this point that Hennigan began talking directly to the judge and swearing at her.

Following their c-word exchange Hennigan banged on the glass panel of the dock, performed a Nazi salute and twice shouted “Sieg Heil” before starting to sing “Jews gas them all….”

Judge Lynch, still speaking in a measured tone, commented: “We are all really impressed. Take him down.”

It isn’t the first time the judge has been in the limelight.

Last year, Judge Lynch apologised for not jailing a pervert pensioner who abused teenage girls.

She spoke out after Michael Taylor admitted sexually assaulting two youngsters at Mistley Place Park animal sanctuary.

The 75-year-old groomed, kissed and groped the two girls, forcing kisses on them and touching one teen’s breasts.

Taylor admitted the sickening acts and was sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court however he avoided jail after Judge Lynch said her hands were tied by strict sentencing guidelines.

She told the victims and their families she wanted to pass a longer than minimum prison term, possibly suspended but due to the guidelines she could only pass down a 36-month community order.
