Anti-immigration protester admits breaking county ban
A man who calls himself ‘The Hotel Investigator’ has admitted breaking a community protection notice banning him from Surrey after attending an anti-immigration protest.
Anthony Barnes, 45, from London, changed his plea to guilty at Staines Magistrates Court on Thursday, having initially pleaded not guilty in November.
Barnes, who runs the YouTube account AY Audits which has 160,000 subscribers, broke the notice by attending a protest outside a hotel in Horley on 23 August 2025.
He was given a 12-month conditional discharge, meaning he will receive no further action if he does not re-offend within the next year.
